Values-Sensitive Library Assessment Toolkit
Project Description
The Values-Sensitive Library Assessment Toolkit serves to model a value system for library assessment practice, with the goal of helping practitioners identify and apply the values that are important for their assessment practice. The toolkit takes the form of a card deck, presenting 10 values along with 3 activities for working with the values.
Collaborators
This toolkit is derived from extensive survey-based and interview-based research involving members of the library assessment community. I wish to thank those practitioners for sharing their time and energy with me.The toolkit also builds on prior prototypes that I’ve co-developed with other collaborators listed in the projects below.

Indigenous Participatory Design Toolkit
Project Description
The Indigenous Participatory Design Toolkit is a prototype design tool for creating dialogue around the real challenges and strengths of Native students. The tool can help generate understanding across diverse populations, and it can generate ideas for new services in support of Native student success.

National Forum on Web Privacy and Web Analytics
Project Description
Funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Privacy Forum was held September 2018 in Bozeman, Montana, where 40 librarians, technologists, and privacy researchers collaborated in producing a practical roadmap for enhancing analytics practices in support of privacy.

Project Description
The project aimed to create more open and inclusive library services at Montana State University through participatory design with traditionally underrepresented student populations. This project resulted in a promotional poster series and social media hashtag to highlight key library activities, co-created with Indigenous undergraduate students.

Journey Mapping
Project Description
Librarians and students from Montana State University Library and Bozeman Public Library created journey maps to capture the user experience of printing at the library. Insights from the journey maps were applied to improve printing workflows for library users.

User Personas
Project Description
The MSU Library’s first set of user personas were developed from original research interviews and a literature review. The personas were unveiled at a Persona Party, where library faculty and staff began building working relationships with the personas by sharing their own interactions and experiences with each persona.
